One of my favorite things about Valentine’s Day, aside from all the fun Valentine’s Day games, is the cute Valentine’s Day food!

This Layered Jello Dessert takes all of those things and puts them into one fun Valentine’s Day dessert full of layers of jello, creamy whipped cream, all with some fruit and sprinkles on top.

It’s everything people love about Valentine’s Day in one beautiful package! It would also make a really fun surprise at the end of a Valentine’s Day scavenger hunt or a Galentine’s Day party like this girls’ craft night!

The process is a little time consuming because you have to let the layers cool before adding another layer, but overall these layered desserts are really easy to make!

To start, make one package of Jello according to the instructions on the box. You will most likely combine the jelly mixture with one cup of boiling water and one cup of cold water. But read the box just in case.

Spread the Jello in a single layer in four cups and place in the fridge to set, usually about an hour.

After you have combined the jelly with the water, add eight ounces of cold whip until it is nicely creamy.

Then, once the first layer has set, divide the second jelly mixture into four and pour it over the first layer and let it set – another hour or so.

Repeat the same process with your third and fourth Jello boxes (prepare the third box as usual and the fourth box with Cool Whip) to complete the layered desserts.

Place the jars in the refrigerator and chill until ready to serve. Serve chilled with all your favorite toppings on top.

Prepare the Jello cups up to 24 hours in advance, except for the whipped cream and decorations. Refrigerate until ready to serve and garnish just before serving.

Reduce the time it takes to make them by making fewer layers. Make only two or three thicker layers instead of the four the recipe calls for. You’ll still have the same great taste, just a slightly different look.

Remove the fruit on top, wrap the tops in plastic wrap and refrigerate any leftovers for up to three days. Decorate again when you can enjoy again.

It usually takes 20-30 minutes for the jelly layer to set, but I would plan on taking a little longer for this recipe to make sure it is completely set.

Strawberry Layered Jello Dessert

While you can technically put Jello in the freezer to make it set faster, it comes with a risk because if you leave it in the freezer for too long, it will lose its jello consistency and instead end up with something soft and mushy. I recommend just staying by the fridge instead. If you don’t have time to make these layered jellies, you can always try something quick instead, like these Valentine’s Day Rice Crispies!
